Schmugar, Craig. (2008). The Future of Social Networking Sites. McAFEE Security Journal, 28 – 30.

This article discussed why these sites are growing so fast, as well as determining that an increase will also cause an increase in trouble. A few of the exploitable conditions are: spammers, hackers, and more threats, such as phishing attacks, worms, and leakage. In order for social network sites to have a future, the community needs to continue using. This is what drives the content; it is the combination of the elements within the community channels. The platforms will expand, specific sites will be understood based on behavior, and profiling will start to occur. With these big changes in the future comes both compelling information and threatening information.

What is the future of social networking sites? I personally do not think it will disappear anytime soon. They are a great way to keep in touch with others, meet new people who enjoy doing the same things, and exploring activities and past-times.
